What you should know before meeting your Cake Designer...
Firstly, you should make sure your venue allows external cakes and find out if they charge a cutting fee.
Secondly, you should look at some cake designs and have a feel for what you like and do not like. You do not have to know the exact design but ideas/colour/themes give the designer somewhere to start. If you do have color samples/invitations, bring them along to your consult.
Thirdly, you should know roughly what you want to spend. It is generally a lot quicker to come up with a design that works for everyone when a budget is known. Finally, make sure to arrange a cake stand with your venue/caterer/bakery. Cakes look so amazing on stands!
